GCM Insurance & Risk Management Advisors, LLC was established in 2009 by our Founder, Grant Connor Mehlich. Our vision has been to actively listen and respond to our business communities’ ever-changing needs with highly individual insurance and risk management services since inception. We provide our clients with personalized solutions for protecting their assets and planning for the future, all while maintaining our core principles:

Our Founder:
Grant Connor Mehlich
Founder
Grant Connor Mehlich has always cared about protecting people around him and has been in the business of it for most of his life. After graduating from Florida State University with a degree in Economics and a minor in Business, Grant moved north to New York and New Jersey, where he began his insurance career.
In 2003, Grant worked as a Retrospective Adjuster for American International Group (AIG) where he learned how to adjust Loss Sensitive, Paid Loss, and Large Deductible Plans for Fortune 100 Companies in big cities.
After a year of learning and experiencing core insurance fundamentals, Grant was promoted. He spearheaded and implemented a brand new program for AIG called “Global Energy Middle Market (GEMM) Plus,” designed for Manufacturing and Process Industry businesses with up to $100M in revenues. GEMM Plus exceeded and surpassed all expectations, underwriting over $20M in new business premiums after one year.
After the success of GEMM Plus, Grant returned to his home state of Florida and began his Insurance Brokerage career with Hilb Rogal & Hobbs (HRH), the 7th largest insurance brokerage in the world at the time. Utilizing his underwriting knowledge, passion, and dedication to his clients, Grant brokered over $1.97M in premiums within his first year, earning him the southeast regional new business award. By the time Grant left to start GCM Insurance & Risk Management, LLC in August of 2009, he was responsible for insuring over $200MM in property values throughout the State of Florida.
Grant has been interviewed twice in a nationally published business magazine. He is a Ybor City Development Corporation committee member because community leadership is important to him. Tampa is Grant’s home, and he remains committed to serving the great state of Florida.
